Due to the announcement made by ILAC for the extension period for the for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 which has been extended from 30 November 2020 to 1 June 2021, we are pleased to offer a system maintenance for the Transition to ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
This extension has been granted to ensure all the accredited laboratories are able to achieve the remaining transitions in a robust manner under the restrictions imposed as a result of the global coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.
The system maintenance is designed to provide on the understanding of the changes in the latest release, and how to implement the changes to ensure its compliance.

Transition to MS 1480:2019
The second revision of MS 1480:2019 Food Safety According to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) System describes the requirements to ensure food safety during preparation, processing, manufacturing, packaging, storage, transportation, distribution, handling or offering for sale or supply in any sector of the food chain. This newly published revision replaces MS 1480:2007 (first version).
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic as well as the Movement Control Order (MCO), Department of Standards Malaysia (Standards Malaysia) in discussion with the Food Safety and Quality Division, Ministry of Health, has agreed to extend the transition dates to MS 1480:2019 up to one (1) year. Therefore, the new transition date to MS 1480:2019 is 1 September 2021. After this transition date, any existing accredited certificates issued based on MS 1480:2007 will no longer be valid and shall be withdrawn.
